What's your plan for 2018? Do you have a vision statement? If not, there's no time like the present to get started. A vision statement is not a resolution for all you out there who loathe setting resolutions. Consider your vision statement to be something of a blue print or road map of what it is you hope to be in 2018. A vision statement requires you to complete multiple activities so that you are able to transform into your ultimate state of being.

For some of us, this means hitting the gym. For others, it may mean changing your diet. Some individuals will seek to enhance their spirituality while others will start developing a playbook for ways they will improve their careers.

Perhaps you already have a vision statement. Congratulations! You are ahead of the curve. Take some time to look it over and determine if it still applies or if you need to make a few tweaks. If you do not have a vision statement, start jotting down a few thoughts about what you want your personal brand to be in 2018. It should be something you aspire to achieving in the short-term (1-2 years) and long-term (3-5 years). Remember to keep it simple, but don't be shy about paint a clear picture of what it is you hope to achieve.

Your vision statement will serve as a navigational resource during those times when you question what it is you hope to achieve this year.
